Illustrations from Classic Children's Literature
I can never forget my childhood which has the best memory of the discovery of many classic children's book and i was attracted to read those. The most liked part from these classic children's literature are the illustrations that stole my heart.I could look at the beautiful illustrations for hours at a time. I would sit in my room and dream about the incredible pictures in the book.
One of my very favorite classics is the Velveteen Rabbit. The illustrations are adorable and the rabbit is one of the cutest characters in children's literature. He is a stuffed rabbit who becomes real and a series of adventures ensue. Children and adults everywhere love this precious rabbit. The illustrations make the rabbit come to life in such a real way. Parents everywhere have read this book to their children since its publication in 1922.
Another favorite to children of all ages, especially girls, is The Secret Garden. Who couldn't love this book about friendship, magic, and mystery? The lovely illustrations make the story so genuine and beguiling. The Garden is a major part of the story and is reproduced beautifully in this classic book.
Children of all ages and genders simply love the Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. Just hearing the title of the book brings back so many memories of Mowgli and the many animals in the Jungle Book. Even though the book was written over a century ago, the book still resounds with children everywhere. It doesn't hurt that most have seen the Disney classic. Who could resist a book with such incredible illustrations? Mowgli, raised by wolves, learns everything about family from his faithful jungle family. Without the illustrations, the books simply wouldn't be the same.
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe has recently been re-introduced to children. Hopefully, the children who saw the movie will also pick up this wonderful classic. The magical world of Narnia would not have quite the same impact for many children without the gorgeous illustrations. The mythical world of Narnia is full of strange characters and beautiful scenes. With the timeless story and the illustrations, this children's classic is a must read for everyone.
Alice in Wonderland is another timeless classic with some of the most beloved characters in children's literature. Reading the story along with the almost mythic illustrations makes for a fabulous experience for any age group. Who doesn't love the hilarious characters Alice meets down the rabbit hole? Reading this book with a child becomes a rite of passage for many parents and their children.
Another rite of passage book is Peter Pan. Who doesn't dream about being Peter or Wendy? This fantasy about the joys of childhood is beloved by everyone. Without the perfect illustrations, we wouldn't have nearly as much fun with Captain Hook or the Lost Boys. Even though this classic was also written over a century ago, the story is as relevant today as it ever was. Who doesn't wish we could stay children forever?
Timeless stories and perfect illustrations make children's literature live forever in our hearts. We cherish these books and share them with others whenever we can so others can share in our joy.
